7 New Cars to Look Out for in 2020

2020 is certain to be a big year in motoring around the world.

Some much-loved models are making a return to the motoring fold including the Ford Bronco, which hasn’t formed part of the Ford lineup for the past 25 years!

The second-generation Tesla Roadster will also go into production in 2020 with many waiting to see if its face-melting performance figures are going to be as impressive as Tesla claim. Other models, which have made an appearance already in certain countries will also now rollout around the world.

Let’s take a look at some of 2020s most anticipated cars.

1. Ford Bronco

After almost two decades, Ford will be reintroducing its famous Bronco SUV in 2020. The Bronco model has not been seen since 1996 and many Ford enthusiasts are waiting in anticipation to see what the latest model, the sixth generation has to offer.

It will see a pretty significant change in Ford’s philosophy for the Bronco brand. Instead of a full-sized SUV, the latest Bronco, which is based on the current Ford Ranger platform will now be a mid-sized SUV and available as both a 2-door and 4-door.

Interestingly, one of the models offered by Ford in the new Bronco series is a race-ready truck, the Bronco R. And what about a hybrid? Well, all indications are that Ford will indeed introduce a hybrid version of the Bronco. Many car aficionados speculate that it will be powered by Ford’s 3.3-liter V6 motor/electric motor combo which is used in other models in the Ford stable.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated cars of 2020, the Bronco is sure to turn heads.

2. Tesla Roadster

Production of the second-generation Tesla Roadster is set to commence in 2020. And this all-electric car promises to deliver unparalleled performance.

In fact, Tesla is claiming that its new Roadster will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. And that will make it faster than any production car available in the United States today.

But how will the Roaster achieve these mind-bending performance figures? Well, it will be driven by three electric motors, two at the rear of the vehicle and one in front. These three provide all-wheel drive.

Surely that performance has an impact on the Roadster’s overall range? Well, it doesn’t. Tesla claims the Roadster can travel up to 620 miles on a single charge! All of this doesn’t come cheap, however. If you’d like one, you need a cool $250,000!

3. BMW 7 Series

The 2020 BMW 7 Series will only be introduced in North America. This is the top-of-the-range luxury sedan offered by the German automaker and it’s sure to be a winner with BMW aficionados.

So what’s to look forward to from this BMW flagship model? Well, perhaps the most anticipated feature is that many functions on the vehicle will be voice-activated. A simple “Hello, BMW” will open a wide range of voice commands that allow you to interact with your vehicle.

When it comes to engines, the 7 Series will have three powerplant options. The most powerful of these (523 bhp) will propel the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds! Power and luxury, that sums the 7 Series up perfectly.

4. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

A new model for one of the most legendary names in motoring. That’s what early 2020 promises us.

The Corvette Stingray is certainly one of Chevrolet’s most iconic name badges. The new Stingray, the C8, promises all that you would expect from the brand – V8 power, lightweight chassis and beautiful lines.

One major change, however, sees the 2020 Corvette with a powerplant situated in the middle of the car instead of at the rear. The engine itself is a 6.2-liter V8 behemoth, which produces almost 500 brake horsepower and produces 470 lb-ft of torque!

What Chevy has achieved here is nothing short of spectacular.

5. Range Rover Evoque

The Evoque certainly turned heads when it was first introduced by Range Rover in 2011. Now in 2020, the second generation model is still a looker!

2020 models of the Evoque are powered by a range of engine options, including diesel and petrol powerplants. The top-of-the-range petrol engine produces 300 bhp while the diesel variant is not that far behind, pushing out 240 bhp.

The second generation is just as striking as the first in terms of looks with its coupe-like design and sloping roof still prominent. The Evoque offers an all-weather capability that makes it an exceptional package both on and off-road.

6. Toyota Supra

One of the most famous names in the Toyota stable, the Supra is reintroduced in 2019 and 2020 around the world.

This is the fifth generation of the Supra and the first since 2002. Interestingly, Toyota has produced this generation of the Supra in partnership with BMW. In fact, the vehicle is related to BMW’s Z4 Roadster.

The new Supra will be powered by either a 1.9-liter or 2.9-liter straight-4 or straight-6 BMW motor and features an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Top-of-the-range models are capable of 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.

Toyota and BMW have also prepared racing versions of the Supra, specifically in the GT4 class.

7. Jeep Gladiator

The Gladiator brand is a much-loved Jeep model that hasn’t been seen in decades. But all that changes with the 2020 Gladiator model first launched by Jeep in the latter half of 2019.

Known as the JT, this Gladiator is a mid-sized pickup truck powered by a 3.6-liter Chrysler Pentastar V6 engine. And that gives the Gladiator some grunt. In fact, the Pentastar pushes out 280 horsepower.

But for those who want an alternative powerplant, 2020 sees Jeep launch a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel Turbocharged V6 option.

Jeep offers the Gladiator in a range of models including the luxurious Overland and the off-road-ready Rubicon. When it comes to payload, the Gladiator is capable of carrying around 1,700 lbs.
